We aim to provide something for everyone at prices which make the High Street Jewellers blush. Our main focus is the unusual and the collectable. Antique Jewellery is currently viewed as one of the most solid investments you can make so our pieces not only have aesthetic value but also have considerable investment potential. Items of vintage and antique gold are our speciality. Victorian gold and Edwardian gold as well as foreign pieces. We stock vast numbers of rings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets, cufflinks and many other varied and interesting pieces. As well as our gold jewellery we also stock excellent examples of vintage and antique silver as well as masonic jewellery, platinum jewellery and, of course, many diamond rings and gem encrusted jewelry - ruby, sapphire, emerald, tanzanite and more. We also have an extensive collection of vintage timepieces and watches, including vintage Rolex, Omega and many other prestigious brands. We will be building another website to showcase our watches so if you are looking for a Ulysse Nardin, Girard Perregaux, Longines or Jaeger LeCoultre please contact us. All Jewellery Purchases come with a standard gift bag or box if we are feeling generous or the original box / packaging if it has survived. You can upgrade to a beautiful luxury (and we do mean luxury) box for a small additional charge. We are in the ongoing process of constructing a comprehensive online web-gallery with high resolution close ups of all our Vintage Jewellery stock. As with everything, time is the factor in completing this endeavour and time is a commodity that is priceless to us so please do not get frustrated if you would like to see more pictures of any item. There is an 'enquire' link on most items listed so feel free to contact us and request more pictures should you require them. We will always accommodate such requests at the first possible opportunity and even create a new web page dedicated to the item of your interest, with YouTube videos included where possible. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated - we are antique dealers remember so all this modern technology is an constant learning process for us. Postage Worldwide is FREE for any item (well free to our customers anyway) We always use UK shipping methods that can be tracked and insured for your peace of mind. For overseas orders we base the shipping method on purchase price. If you require additional insurance for your item please ask us in advance, but please understand that we are not going to pay more for the shipping than the cost of the item purchased. If overseas customers require couriered delivery please accept that this will incur a considerable charge. Please accept that we are jewellers providing quality items of Antique Jewelry for our loyal customer base. We are not suppliers of scrap metals at prices lower than the intrinsic value so if you are looking for items to scrap then please look elsewhere. We do have many items priced based purely on the metal content in our Clearance Area but we do not sell items at below their scrap value, we are a business after all and do have more excitatory brain cells than inhibitory. As such, any enquiries merely asking for the gold weight in an item will be ignored - that means we will not reply!! ADH Gems Antique Jewellery Christmas Price Drop Promotion means Collectible Jewellery is Even More Affordable Collecting antique and vintage jewellery has become increasingly popular recently, not only because of the aesthetic appeal but also for investment purposes. Due to rising gold and silver prices over the past few years refinement centres have been melting down quality, collectible jewellery by the ton and thus it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain pieces at an affordable price. Added to that the fact that less jewellery is in production and even a layman will realise the potential investment opportunity, based on the simplest of ‘supply and demand’ models. The current financial climate is likely to make such items even more desirable, with less expendable income available it is safe to assume that more people will realise the intrinsic value held in their gold and silver jewellery. Busy melting pots will mean that we will lose even more quality items forever. On the other hand, however, it also means that collectors of such items will see the value of their collections increasing. At ADH Gems Antique Jewellery, the philosophy has always been to make collecting high grade jewellery affordable for all. The company goes to great lengths to ‘save’ as many items from the smelters as possible and offers them for sale at prices which are very favourable compared to many other dealers. Naturally this practice cannot continue indefinitely. Each item sold by ADH Gems is valued for insurance purposes before being offered for sale and the sale price is generally around 33% of this price – very reasonable by anybody’s calculations. However, many of the insurance valuations are in need of updating and this will naturally mean increasing prices across the board. Prices have currently been frozen until the end of the year but regular visitors to the website will see increases in January 2012. As a way of rewarding their loyal customer base, ADH Gems Antique Jewellery is holding a last promotion based on the current valuations throughout December. They have set aside thousands of pounds worth of high grade stock and will be offering all pieces on a ‘price-drop’ basis. The way in which this will work is as follows: Each piece will initially be offered for sale at the full insurance valuation. Over the course of December the prices will decrease randomly. The prices will continue to drop until each piece is sold. As the items are mostly custom or bespoke items, there will only be one of each available, so once it has been sold it will no longer be available.
The hope is that anybody is able to obtain a high quality piece of antique jewellery at a very affordable price. Every lot will come complete with the current insurance valuation as described on the website. Naturally there is considerable risk in this venture. It is entirely feasible that items may sell at below the intrinsic value of the precious metal content if customers do not buy before the price drops to that level. Hopefully this will not occur too often and we will not see another British business forced to close.
